June 2, 1978 – 35 years ago – The Seattle SuperSonics beat the Washington Bullets 98-94 at the Seattle Coliseum to take a 3 games to 2 lead in the NBA Finals.

Freddie Brown came off the bench to lead Seattle in scoring with 26 points. Dennis Johnson added 24 and Marvin Webster grabbed 13 rebounds and scored 10 points.

Freddie Brown hurt us from the outside,” said Bullet coach Dick Motta, “and we weren’t just letting him shoot. He made about four shots that he’d double-pumped and you can’t do anything about that.”

Game 6 would be played two days later in Landover, Md.
