Seahawks a playing on a Thursday Night

The Seattle Seahawks will play a non-holiday Thursday road game for just the second time in team history when they tackle the San Francisco 49ers in a highly anticipated game.

Here is a look at Seahawks games played on a THURSDAY NIGHT:

Oct. 17, 1996

@ Kansas City 34, Seattle 16

The Chiefs rolled to a 20-3 halftime lead and never looked back.

Seahawks QB John Friesz was 20-34 for 238 yards, with a TD pass to Joey Galloway that ended the scoring. Chris Warren rushed 14 times for 81 yards and did scamper 50 yards for a third quarter TD.

Chiefs QB Steve Bono was 17-26 for 194 yards and Marcus Allen scored twice on 1-yard runs.

The Seahawks were penalized 13 times for 118 yards.

Seattle finished 7-9 that year with Coach Dennis Erickson.

The Chiefs improved their record to 5-2 with the win but did not make the playoffs, finishing with a 9-7 record.

The 49ers rallied with three consecutive TDs in the fourth quarter, building a 24-7 lead before Hasselbeck threw a 22-yard TD to Jeramy Stevens to complete the scoring.

Frank Gore led the Niners with 144 yards on the ground from 29 carries. Alex Smith completed 14 passes from 25 attempts for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Hasselbeck was 20-37 for 220 yards but threw two interceptions. Shaun Alexander led the Hawks in rushing with 73 yards on 23 attempts.

The Seahawks lost their second straight game to drop to 8-6. They would split their final two games and make the playoffs with a 9-7 record. They beat Dallas 21-20 in a Wild Card contest, before bowing out of the playoffs in overtime to the Chicago Bears 27-24.

The 49ers ended a three-game losing streak with the win. It was their first win since beating Seattle 20-14 at home.
