This BUD’s For You – One Final Time

25 Jul

It’s hard to believe its been eight years to the date (July 25, 2004) that the dirty-fast Miss Budweiser sped across the Columbia River.

The Bud qualified number one as expected, turning a lap at 163.162 mph. Second on the ladder was the U-3 Vacationville.com (161.146) with Mitch Evans doing the steering.

Villwock flew the Red Boat to three consecutive heat wins and finally got the chance to race the Vacationville.com, who took the checkered flag in each of his heats.

Mitch Evans committed a lane infraction in the final, so the race came down to the Beer Wagon and the Oh Boy! Oberto.

Villwock won the race averaging 135.939 mph to 133.250 for the Oberto (Steve David driver).

It was the 12th win on the Columbia River for the Bernie Little-led Miss Budweiser. Joe Little was the owner of the Bud in 2004, as his dad Bernie had passed away.
